People Who Foster

by Katie Wright |

Whether you smoke or vape the answer to this is yes.

Smoking does not exclude you from being a foster carer, however it will come with certain restrictions. At People Who Foster we will not place the following with any foster carer who have a smoker living in the household:

  • Children under the age of 5.
  • Parent and child.

The health and wellbeing of children is paramount and at People Who Foster we are dedicated to ensuring all the young people in our care are provided with the highest quality of support; ensuring that they can lead healthy lives.

If you apply to foster with us, we will ask you whether you smoke or vape at the beginning of your application. It is important that you are honest about your usage, as this does not disqualify you from fostering with us, but it will affect the types of placements you can have.

At People Who Foster we do not classify vaping the same as smoking and have a separate policy regarding this.
